My Memorial Day Weekend

Friday mom, dad, aunt Becky and uncle Brian hooked the camper up to our truck and loaded it up with coolers and bags and stuff. I was a little worried that they were going to leave me so I kept a close eye on them and tried to help as much as possible. When I saw them load my box I knew that I was going to get to go. This made me VERY happy. That night we stopped at a lake and dropped off our camper. Then I got to go with them to a racetrack! I didn't actually get to go in but I could hear them from my box and daddy came out to check on me and play with me several times.

On the way back to the lake I even got to sit in back with the boys!!! Then there was a lot of commotion and we stopped moving. We had a flat. I tried to escape out of the van with the boys to check it out but dad made me get back in. Somewhere during all of the mess I found dad's cell phone so I thought I would bring it with me in my box so he could find it later. During the night I got a little bored and so I decided to see how the phone tasted. This turned out to be a very bad idea. How was I suppose to know that phones are not indestructible?

Saturday morning when dad got let me out of my box, he found his phone just as I had planned. I really think he was glad I had found it for him, but he wasn't very happy that I had chewed on it!!!

I got in BIG trouble!!!

Eventually dad forgave me and he took me down to the water to swim. I got to play and have lots of fun.

I also did a lot of relaxing and chewing on my rawhide bone. There were lots of other dogs at the lake. A black lab that was camping next to us came over for a visit. I went on a walk with mom and Aunt Becky and went lots of rides with dad and uncle Brian.

We also had a fire that we lounged around in the evening. Mom was worred that I was going to get my tail in the fire though. Like I would do that, she's crazy.

Once I really had to pee and my uncle Brian happened to be close by so... He needed a little watering, he looked dry.

My aunt Becky on the other hand had been really nice to me all weekend. She found out I knew how to give High Fives and so gave me lots of treats and even shared some of her food with me. All I had to do was give her a high five. In this photo I was keeping a close watch on those white puffy things, I wasn't sure what they were but everyone was eating them and I wanted one too. I gave her my cute face and sad eyes and it WORKED! I got one. It wasn't bad.

Then I heard popping. Daddy was making popcorn. I watched it to make sure he didn't burn any or waste any when he poured it into the bowl. He shared with everyone, even me.

We came home on Sunday afternoon. Since mom & dad had monday off too I got t0 spend some extra time with them on monday also. So overall it was a good weekend. (minus the cell phone incident of course)

Bark to Me: (1)

Wow Talon, that is soo cool. I love hanging out in the woods by the lake and hanging out around the fire. Last weekend my friend Dudley the lab stood by the fire and didn't know his tail was right in there. We smelled the hair burning and the humans got it out just in time - that would have been something to see though, part of me wished it would've stayed in there for another 5 seconds just to see what might've happened.

About the cell phone - don't sweat it, our humans pay too much attention to their dumb electronic gadgets and not enough to us fun dogs anyway.
