Sunday Swim
Dad and I played fetch with my favorite water toy.
The adventures of an active affable yellow Lab, as seen through the eyes (and camera lens) of his parents.
I just thought I would let everyone know how I'm doing. I had to go to visit the vet again because I kept scratching my sore and it wasn't getting any better. I couldn't help it though my hair was growing back and my sore was healing and it ITCHED!!! He had to shave more of my hair off!!! Then he said that if I didn't stop itching it they might have to put a cone on me. I hear they are NOT good so I'm going to try really hard not to scratch. I had to get another shot. Then the doctor gave me more antibiotics that I have to take twice a day. They are even BIGGER than the ones I had to take the first time! I also have to take predizone once a day. I don't mind this one so much because it's small and mom says its supposed to help with the itching. I think its working cause I don't have to scratch it as much as before which is good, hopefully no cone. Mom and Dad also have to put this gewy stuff on my sore THREE times a day. This gewy stuff is much better than the last stuff, it doesn't sting. Well that's about it. Hopefully I will be as good as new soon. I'm getting tired of all these pills.
Friday mom, dad, aunt Becky and uncle Brian hooked the camper up to our truck and loaded it up with coolers and bags and stuff. I was a little worried that they were going to leave me so I kept a close eye on them and tried to help as much as possible. When I saw them load my box I knew that I was going to get to go. This made me VERY happy. That night we stopped at a lake and dropped off our camper. Then I got to go with them to a racetrack! I didn't actually get to go in but I could hear them from my box and daddy came out to check on me and play with me several times.
Eventually dad forgave me and he took me down to the water to swim. I got to play and have lots of fun.
I also did a lot of relaxing and chewing on my rawhide bone. There were lots of other dogs at the lake. A black lab that was camping next to us came over for a visit. I went on a walk with mom and Aunt Becky and went lots of rides with dad and uncle Brian.
We also had a fire that we lounged around in the evening. Mom was worred that I was going to get my tail in the fire though. Like I would do that, she's crazy.
Once I really had to pee and my uncle Brian happened to be close by so... He needed a little watering, he looked dry.My aunt Becky on the other hand had been really nice to me all weekend. She found out I knew how to give High Fives and so gave me lots of treats and even shared some of her food with me. All I had to do was give her a high five. In this photo I was keeping a close watch on those white puffy things, I wasn't sure what they were but everyone was eating them and I wanted one too. I gave her my cute face and sad eyes and it WORKED! I got one. It wasn't bad.
Then I heard popping. Daddy was making popcorn. I watched it to make sure he didn't burn any or waste any when he poured it into the bowl. He shared with everyone, even me.
We came home on Sunday afternoon. Since mom & dad had monday off too I got t0 spend some extra time with them on monday also. So overall it was a good weekend. (minus the cell phone incident of course)
